STEP 1: Convert Input(s) to Base Unit
Discharge in Stream: 60 Cubic Meter per Second --> 60 Cubic Meter per Second No Conversion Required
System Constant k: 2 --> No Conversion Required
System Constant n: 2.63 --> No Conversion Required
System Constant K2: 3 --> No Conversion Required
Current in Coil: 50.11 Ampere --> 50.11 Ampere No Conversion Required
Signal Output: 10 --> No Conversion Required
STEP 2: Evaluate Formula
Substituting Input Values in Formula
d = (((Qs/k)^(1/nsystem)-K2)*I)/E --> (((60/2)^(1/2.63)-3)*50.11)/10
Evaluating ... ...
d = 3.22980430141493
STEP 3: Convert Result to Output's Unit
3.22980430141493 Meter --> No Conversion Required
FINAL ANSWER
3.22980430141493 3.229804 Meter <-- Depth of Flow

How does Electromagnetic Method of Streamflow Measurement work?

The Electromagnetic Method measures point velocity of a stream by using an electromagnetic meter. Continuous records of velocity at one point in a cross section and of the stage readings are used to calculate the stream discharge records. This method works according to Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, the motion of water flowing in a stream cuts the vertical component of the earth’s magnetic field and an electromotive force (EMF) is induced in the water.

How does a Vertical Magnetic Field is created?

Large coils buried at the bottom of the channel carry a current I to produce a controlled vertical magnetic field. The electrode provided at the sides of the channel section measures the small voltage produced due to the flow of water in the channel.

How to Calculate Depth of Flow in Electromagnetic Method?

Depth of Flow in Electromagnetic Method calculator uses Depth of Flow = (((Discharge in Stream/System Constant k)^(1/System Constant n)-System Constant K2)*Current in Coil)/Signal Output to calculate the Depth of Flow, The Depth of Flow in Electromagnetic Method formula is defined as the depth of water that is transported through a given cross-sectional area based on the Electro-Magnetic Method of Faraday's principle. Depth of Flow is denoted by d symbol.

How to calculate Depth of Flow in Electromagnetic Method using this online calculator? To use this online calculator for Depth of Flow in Electromagnetic Method, enter Discharge in Stream (Qs), System Constant k (k), System Constant n (nsystem), System Constant K2 (K2), Current in Coil (I) & Signal Output (E) and hit the calculate button. Here is how the Depth of Flow in Electromagnetic Method calculation can be explained with given input values -> 3.222714 = (((60/2)^(1/2.63)-3)*50.11)/10.
