Surface unevenness Solution

STEP 0: Pre-Calculation Summary
Formula Used
Surface Unevenness = 1.11*(Metal Removal Rate^0.384)
Ssd = 1.11*(Zw^0.384)
This formula uses 2 Variables
Variables Used
Surface Unevenness - (Measured in Meter) - Surface unevenness is the degree of roughness of a surface.
Metal Removal Rate - (Measured in Cubic Meter per Second) - Metal removal rate (MRR) is the amount of material removed per time unit (usually per minute) when performing machining operations such as using a lathe or milling machine.
STEP 1: Convert Input(s) to Base Unit
Metal Removal Rate: 10 Cubic Meter per Second --> 10 Cubic Meter per Second No Conversion Required
STEP 2: Evaluate Formula
Substituting Input Values in Formula
Ssd = 1.11*(Zw^0.384) --> 1.11*(10^0.384)
Evaluating ... ...
Ssd = 2.68734224187716
STEP 3: Convert Result to Output's Unit
2.68734224187716 Meter --> No Conversion Required
FINAL ANSWER
2.68734224187716 2.687342 Meter <-- Surface Unevenness

Surface unevenness
Go Surface Unevenness = 1.11*(Metal Removal Rate^0.384)

Surface unevenness Formula

Surface Unevenness = 1.11*(Metal Removal Rate^0.384)
Ssd = 1.11*(Zw^0.384)

What factors affects surface finish during EDM ?

The amount of material removed and the surface finish produced is dependent upon the current in the spark. The material removed by the spark can be assumed to be a crater. The amount removed therefore will depend upon the crater depth, which is directly proportional to the current. Thus as the material removed increases and at the same time the surface finish also decreases. However, decreasing the current in the spark, but increasing its frequency will improve the surface finish in view of the small crater size, but at the same time the material removal rate can be maintained by increasing the frequency.

How to Calculate Surface unevenness?

Surface unevenness calculator uses Surface Unevenness = 1.11*(Metal Removal Rate^0.384) to calculate the Surface Unevenness, The Surface unevenness formula is defined as the degree of surface roughness produced due to given mrr. Surface Unevenness is denoted by Ssd symbol.

How to calculate Surface unevenness using this online calculator? To use this online calculator for Surface unevenness, enter Metal Removal Rate (Zw) and hit the calculate button. Here is how the Surface unevenness calculation can be explained with given input values -> 2.687342 = 1.11*(10^0.384).

FAQ

What is Surface unevenness?
The Surface unevenness formula is defined as the degree of surface roughness produced due to given mrr and is represented as Ssd = 1.11*(Zw^0.384) or Surface Unevenness = 1.11*(Metal Removal Rate^0.384). Metal removal rate (MRR) is the amount of material removed per time unit (usually per minute) when performing machining operations such as using a lathe or milling machine.
How to calculate Surface unevenness?
The Surface unevenness formula is defined as the degree of surface roughness produced due to given mrr is calculated using Surface Unevenness = 1.11*(Metal Removal Rate^0.384). To calculate Surface unevenness, you need Metal Removal Rate (Zw). With our tool, you need to enter the respective value for Metal Removal Rate and hit the calculate button. You can also select the units (if any) for Input(s) and the Output as well.
